Tips & Strategies

• 1A four-in-a-row needs four marks, so a quiet three feels invisible - until it isn't. Build three in a line with one open end and your rival is forced to respond, which buys you the freedom to start a second line somewhere else.
• 2Bait the block. When your opponent keeps answering your threats, lay a three that is not your real plan; the moment they rush to cover it, the board opens up on the other side and your actual line takes shape.
• 3Savage mode never misses an open four. Before you plant a mark, check every row, column and diagonal passing through that cell for a rival run of three - a single greedy move can hand the CPU a crown and all three points.
• 4The centre is the quiet king. The middle cell sits inside more possible winning lines than any corner, so on a fresh board it is worth grabbing early - and on a crowded board it is worth defending.
